LAST TIME OUT - OMAHA 83, CAL STATE FULLERTON 73

Cal State Fullerton dropped its fifth straight game, falling 83-73 to Omaha in a non-conference tilt Wednesday night at Titan Gym.

The Titans (2-5) committed 17 turnovers on the night, 12 of them in the first half that resulted 10 points off turnovers for the Mavericks (3-4) in the first 20 minutes and put Fullerton in a double-digit hole at halftime.

Tre' Coggins led the Titans (2-5) in scoring for the fifth time in seven games this season, dropping 18 points on 6-for-16 shooting. Jackson Rowe added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds while Dwight Ramos poured in 12 points on 4-for-6 shooting in 11 minutes off the bench. Forward Arkim Robertson drew his first start of the season on Wednesday and scored a career high nine points on Wednesday night in 18 minutes on the floor. He also added one steal.

COGGINS CONTINUES SOLID SEASON

Redshirt senior Tre' Coggins was named to the Global Sports Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 15.0 ppg against Jacksonville State and Alabama State. He also logged five steals in the two games and was 7-of-8 on his two-point shots en route to 19 points against Alabama State. On Wednesday, Coggins led the Titans in scoring for the fifth time this season, scoring 18 points against Omaha. This season, Coggins leads the team and Big West Conference in scoring (19.8 ppg) and minutes per game (35.7). He's also ranked in the top-100 nationally in a number of categories including 11th in 3-point field goals made per game (3.7), 42nd in 3-point field goals made (22), and 65th in the country in scoring average (19.8 ppg).

GETTING STARTED RIGHT

Freshman Jackson Rowe has started in six of the team's seven games and is third on the team in minutes per game (27.3). He's second on the Titans in scoring (11.1 ppg) and second in the Big West with a .658 shooting percentage. He leads the Titans with 35 rebounds in seven games and tied for the team lead with five blocked shots. He set a new career best with two blocks against Omaha as well as four assists. He also scored 10 points; marking the fourth time in seven games he has scored in double figures for the Titans.

ALLMAN DOING A BIT OF EVERYTHING

Sophomore Kyle Allman is continuing to improve in his second season with the Titans. He tallied 13 points against Alabama State, his third double-figures scoring output in seven games this season after posting four such games in 30 games played as a freshman. He set a new career high with two blocks against Omaha and added a season-high two steals on defense. Allman is second on the team in minutes per game (31.1).

ROBERTSON IN THE STARTING FIVE

Arkim Robertson grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds on Nov. 26 against Alabama State, the second double-figure rebounding game by a Titans player this season. He also tied a team season-high with three blocked shots in the game against the Hornets and logged a career best 20 minutes in the contest. On Wednesday, Robertson recorded his first career start and played 18 more minutes as he scored a career best nine points on 4-for-6 shooting.

AUSTEN CITY LIMITS

Freshman Austen Awosika has assumed the role so far this season as Fullerton's top option off the bench. He's played in all seven games this season and is averaging 21.7 minutes a game, the most by any Titans player without a start this season. He logged another 23 minutes against Omaha and scored nine points to go along with a block and three steals, tying his career high. Awosika is currently shooting 51.4 percent (18-for-35) from the field.

RAMOS DROPS A DOZEN

NOTHING FREE IN THIS WORLD

Fullerton has struggled with free-throw shooting during its current five-game losing streak and they continued on Wednesday against Omaha. The Titans were 11-for-24 at the line and during the five-game streak, they are shooting 65.2 percent from the charity stripe while their opponents are shooting 79.7 percent at the line.
