"We are excited about the opportunities this schedule provides for our ball club," Taylor said. "We have some unique challenges on the road playing at the University of Washington followed by a trip to UNLV as well as trips to University of San Diego and Nebraska-Omaha.  The home schedule is healthy with WCC and Big Sky schools coming to Titan Gym."

The 2016-17 season features five returners from last year's squad highlighted by 2016 Big West Honorable Mention Khalil Ahmad and Tre Coggins.

Ahmad, the 2016 Big West Conference Freshman Player of the Year, became the first Titans player to win the conference's freshman award since 2003-04 when Bobby Brown was bestowed with the honor. Ahmad was also the third Titan overall to win the award after he broke Brown's single-season freshman record, tallying 429 points on the season. Ahmad led all Big West freshmen with a 14.3 points per game scoring average, which also ranked second in the team and seventh in the conference.

Coggins returns for his senior season after leading the team with a 15.6 points per game scoring average last season. He earned Big West Honorable Mention after ranking in the conference top-10 in free-throw percentage (3rd, .853) and three-pointers made per game (2nd, 2.6). His 75 made three-pointers tied for ninth in Cal State Fullerton single-season history, and his .853 free throw percentage ranks fourth in CSF single-season history. He also notched a career-high 41 points on Jan. 16 against CSUN, tying the second most in a single game in Titans history and becoming the first to score 41 since Josh Akognon did it on Dec. 13, 2008 against CSU Bakersfield.

Also returning for Fullerton are guards Kyle Allman Jr., Lionheart Leslie and forward Tim Myles while freshman Jamal Smith is back after redshirting the 2015-16 campaign. Allman played in 30 games last season and average 5.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game in his freshman season. Leslie appeared in 29 games and made 18 starts, usually handling the point guard duty. He average 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game while leading the squad with 28 steals. Myles played in 29 games, making four starts and proved to be a tough defender and rebounder in the post while mostly coming in as a reserve. He averaged 4.2 rebounds a game and led the team in boards on five occasions. He notched his first double-double against Hawai'i in the Big West Tournament, scoring 10 points and grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds.

The squad will also feature 12 newcomers, nine of which are listed at 6-foot-5 and above including three centers listed at 6-foot-10 and above, giving the Titans a lot of length and a lot of depth for the upcoming season. Titans fans will get their first opportunity to see the squad in action at the annual Blue-Orange Scrimmage, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at Titan Gym. Admission will be free.

Following an exhibition against Saint Martin's on Nov. 5 at Titan Gym, Fullerton opens up the 2016-17 campaign at home for the first time in Taylor's four-year tenure at Cal State Fullerton on Nov. 11 as they host Caltech at Titan Gym.

Two days later, Fullerton welcomes Portland State to Titan Gym for the team's only Sunday home game of the season on Nov. 13. The Titans traveled to Portland last year, falling to the Vikings 89-82 on Dec. 29.

The Titans then hit the road to participate in the Global Sports Classic. Fullerton faces Washington on Nov. 17 in Seattle and then head to Las Vegas to take on UNLV at the Thomas and Mack Center on Nov. 19 in preliminary round action.

On Nov. 25, the Titans head back to the Thomas and Mack Center to face Jacksonville State in the final rounds of the tournament. Fullerton plays its final game of the Global Sports Classic on Nov. 26.

The Titans return home on Nov. 30 to host Nebraska-Omaha in the first of two matchups during the season. The Mavericks went 18-14 overall in 2015-16 including a 10-6 mark in Summit League action and participated in the College Basketball Invitational for postseason play, falling to Duquesne in the first round.

Fullerton then welcomes Pacific to Titan Gym on Dec. 3 for a return trip by the Tigers. The Titans edged Pacific, 77-76, on Dec. 17 in Stockton, marking Fullerton's first win over the Tigers since 2012.

The Titans head to San Diego on Dec. 7 before hosting Southern Utah on Dec. 10. Both are return trips and both were victories on the schedule for the Titans last season.

On Dec. 18, Fullerton heads to Nebraska-Omaha to take on the Mavericks at Baxter Arena before Fullerton wraps up its non-conference slate with Portland (Dec. 22) and Bethesda (Dec. 30) at Titan Gym. The Titans lost to Portland in the Far West Classic held at the Moda Center last season. The Pilots finished the year with an 8-20 overall record and a 6-12 mark in West Coast Conference action.

The Titans begin Big West Conference play at home on Jan. 5 as they host reigning conference tournament champion Hawai'i. The rest of Fullerton's conference home slate includes CSUN (Jan. 7), UC Riverside (Jan. 18), Cal Poly (Jan. 28), Long Beach State (Feb. 11), UC Davis (Feb. 18), UC Irvine (Feb. 22) and UC Santa Barbara (March 2).
