LOS ANGELES – The Cal State Fullerton men's basketball team couldn't combat the electric shooting of UCLA as Norman Powell led the Bruins with 18 points in a 73-45 victory over the Titans at Pauley Pavilion on Wednesday night.

The Bruins (6-2) shot a scorching 44.6 percent (29-of-65) from the floor as Kevon Looney finished with a double-double of 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, while Isaac Hamilton contributed 12 points, knocked down two three-pointers and grabbed eight boards.

Tony Parker just missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds for UCLA while Bryce Allford guided the Bruins' offense scoring 14 points and dishing a game-high seven assists.

Alex Harris led Cal State Fullerton (3-5) with 10 points, three assists and three steals while Moses Morgan poured in nine points. The Titans' leading scorer this season, Lanerryl Johnson, was held to eight points in the game. Steve McClellan led Fullerton with eight rebounds.

In addition to their prolific shooting, the Bruins also held a commanding edge on the boards, 50-34, as UCLA posted an 18-5 advantage in second-chance points as well as outscoring Fullerton 26-14 in the paint.

In addition, UCLA blocked six Titan shots and totaled 18 assists on its 29 baskets.

Cal State Fullerton shot a season-low 24.1 percent (13-of-54) from the floor, turning the ball over 16 times.

At halftime, UCLA held a 40-23 advantage as the Bruins shot 50 percent (16-of-32) from the floor compared to the Titans clip of 27 percent (8-of-30).

The Bruins used a balanced attack as Parker (12), Powell (11) and Looney (10) each reached double figures in the first 20 minutes.

In addition to shooting 50 percent from the floor, UCLA held a 25-16 edge in rebounds leading to 12 second-chance points and an 18-10 advantage in scoring in the paint. The Bruins also had five blocks in the half.

Harris led the Titans with eight first-half points.

UCLA scored on its first four possessions, and the Titans committed seven turnovers in the first period.

After playing five-straight games on the road, Cal State Fullerton returns to action at 6 p.m., Saturday against Pepperdine at Titan Gym.
