The Cal State Fullerton women's track and field squad placed five of its members on the 2011 Big West Conference All-Academic Team for spring sports, headlining a group of almost two dozen Titan student-athletes so honored by the conference office.

Seniors Lauren Williams (sociology) and Ginny English (kinesiology), along with juniors Grace Gonzales (child and adolescent development) and Danielle Morton (art) as well as sophomore Katie Lowrie (kinesiology) represented the track and field squad, which narrowly edged its counterparts from the men's side and Fullerton's softball team, which finished with four honorees apiece.

Jason Haase (business administration), Shawn McNany (mechanical engineering), Danny Savoie (kinesiology), and Andrew Sullivan (kinesiology) represented the men's track and field squad while Torrie Anderson (communications), Ashley Carter (pre-business), Sammie Dabbs (communications), and Nicole Johnson (nursing) were honored from the softball team.

Joining those groups were baseball's Carlos Lopez (communications) and Matt Orloff (sociology), Karina Akhmedova (business administration), Malorie dela Cruz (biology), and Monica Rodriguez (pre-business) from women's tennis, Dakota Duerr (criminal justice) and Nick Ellis (communications) from men's golf, and Deidre Crabtree (pre-business) and Taylor Fowler (pre-business) from the women's golf team.

The 22 student-athletes were part of a larger, 198-member group from the nine members of the Big West Conference. To be eligible, student-athletes have to maintain a 3.2 GPA, complete one full year at the institution (at least a sophomore academically), and compete in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
