Three Titans Earn All-CWS Honors

June 27, 2006

Omaha, Neb. - Cal State Fullerton's Justin Turner, Danny Dorn and David Cooper were represented on the 60th NCAA College World Series All-Tournament Team announced last night following the final game at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska.

Turner, selected as the all-tournament second baseman, hit .364 with eight hits in his third and final trip to Omaha, and captured his 19th career hit in the College World Series, placing him just outside the top five all-time.

Dorn was selected as one of three all-tournament outfielders, and was second in the tournament hitting .471 (8-for-17), scoring six of Titan runs in his third trip to the big dance.

Freshman David Cooper flirted with a College World Series record as he posted seven consecutive hits tying him with Terry Francona (1980) one hit short of the record set by Dave Magadan (1983) and Barry Bonds (1984) who each collected eight hits in a row. In his first trip to Omaha, Copper led all players with a .533 average (8-for-15) while knocking in five as the team's designated hitter.
