Fullerton, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton baseball team will be making its 16th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, and 29th in the program's 33-year history as they were selected to travel to the San Diego Regional as announced by the ESPN Monday morning.

The USD Regional will be held across town at San Diego State's Tony Gwynn Stadium and will begin Friday, June 1, 2007 and extend through Monday, June 4 if necessary.

This is the first time since 2002 and the 23rd time overall that the Titans quest for a NCAA championship will begin on the road.

The Titans (33-23) go south as the No. 2 seed in the bracket and will face off against No. 3 Minnesota (40-16) in their first game. No. 1 San Diego (43-16) will square off with No. 4 Fresno State (36-27).

Fullerton is 4-4 all-time against Minnesota and 1-0 in Regional play with a 7-1 win back in 2004. The Titans hold a 49-30 all-time advantage over Fresno State, and a 7-2 all-time record in the post season. Last season the Titans took two games from the Bulldogs, 9-2 and 10-3, to advance to the Super Regionals The Titans and Toreros have met just once in Regional play with the Titans coming out on to with a 3-1 win in the 2003 Fullerton Regional. The Titans are 46-6-2 all-time against San Diego and lost a midweek affair earlier this season, 5-1, at Goodwin Field on Mar. 14.
