Northridge, Calif. - Tyler Pill had three hits including a home run and four RBI to lead No. 9 Cal State Fullerton to a 11-6 Big West Conference win over Cal State Northridge on the final day of the Regular season.

The Titans win their 40th game of the 26th time at the Div. I level and improve to 40-15 overall and 19-5 in Big West. They are the only 40-win team on the West Coast.

Freshman Christian Coronado (1-1) picked up his first career win in his first career start after allowing two runs on three hits over five innings of work. He retired the first 10 men he faced before allowing his first base runner in the fourth.

Nick Ramirez tied the Cal State Fullerton career record with his 34th career save, moving into esteemed company with former Titan All-American closer Chad Cordero. Ramirez pitched the final 1.2 innings of the game to log his 16th save of the year. He struck out four.

Jake Floethe (1 IP, 3 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 2 K) and Raymond Hernandez (1 .1 IP, 3 H, 2 K) worked between Coronado and Ramirez.

Paul Tremlin (2-7) suffered the loss after giving up five runs on nine hits. Relievers Ryan Juarez and Josh Goossen-Brown each gave up three runs in stints on the mound for Northridge.

A squib infield hit by Jared Deacon broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth. Pill's three-run double broke it open with two out in the inning.

Pill, Richy Pedroza, Michael Lorenzen and Jared Deacon all had three-hit days as the Titans pounded out 17 hits as a team, eight of them going for extra bases. Pill led all players with four RBI. Pedroza also added two runs batted in.

Marty Bowen and Tommy Simis went 2-for-4 to lead the Matadors. Simis and Matthew Moreno led CSUN with two RBI each.

Earlier in the day, Cal State Fullerton was named by the NCAA Selection Committee as a host site for next weekend's NCAA Regional. It will be the 10th time since 2000 that the Titans will host the first round of the tournament. They will find out their opponents on Monday morning.
