TITANS `05: Made ten appearances (10 innings) in relief for the Titans and was one of two left arms out of the pen (John Estes was the other) • His longest outing of the season came on Apr. 20 when he tossed 2.1 innings of relief, allowing just a pair of singles to pick up his first collegiate victory against USC • Picked up his first career save three days later on Apr. 23 at UC Davis, tossing the last 1.1 innings and striking out two • Struck out a career-high, two, on back-to-back occasions (Apr. 23 and 30) • Had back-to-back-to-back scoreless efforts from May 17 - June 5.

SADDLEBACK COLLEGE.: Spent two seasons with the Gauchos under Head Coach Jack Hodges • Was a regular starter for the 2004 JC State Champions in 2004, collecting 12 starts in 17 appearances • Posted a 4-3 record with one save in 77 innings of work, earning him an honorable mention nod from the Orange Empire Conference • Was 8-4 in 80 innings for the Gauchos his freshman stint, earning himself all-conference first-team honors as Saddleback had to settle for second place in the state in 2003 • Earned the team Pitcher of the Year Award that same year.

EL TORO H.S.: Was a two-year letterman for the Chargers under Coach Mike Gonzalez • Was named Rookie of the Year as a junior • As the team captain, he earned second-team All-South Coast League honors his senior year, as well as recognition as Orange County Register's Athlete of the Week.

PERSONAL: Born on October 5, 1983, in Mission Viejo, Calif. • Parents are John and Katherine Pherrin • Full name is David Gerald Pherrin • Has an older brother (John) and a younger sister (Deanna) • Enjoys hanging out at the beach, surfing, and snowboarding in his free time • Lists digging a wine cellar hole as one of his strangest summer jobs • His biggest sports thrill was winning the 2004 California State Junior College Championship • Favorites include: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (team), Greg Maddox (player), steak and rice (food), Heads Up Baseball by Ken Ravizza (book), Van Wilder, Old School, The Matrix (movies), Tom Cruise (actor), Tara Reid (actress).
