CANYON H.S.: Was a four-year letterman for the Comanches at Canyon High School under Coach Joe Hoggatt, splitting time his freshman year with the junior varsity • Earned a second-team and a pair of first-team All-Century League nods his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, respectively • Hit .393 as a junior and .450 as a senior, earning himself second- (junior) and first-team (senior) All-CIF team nods • Was also a two-time first-teamer on the All-Orange County Team.
