FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton had four players selected in the 2023 MLB Draft Monday and Tuesday.
Nate Nankil was the first Titan taken off the board by the Oakland Athletics with the 196th overall pick in the seventh round. Nankil finished his junior year with a .316 batting average with 40 runs and 39 RBI. The San Diego native added five home runs and team-high 21 doubles and was named to the All-Big West First Team following the season.
Jojo Ingrassia was drafted by the Boston Red Sox with the 418th overall pick in the 14th round of the draft. In one season at Fullerton, Ingrassia had a 5-2 record with seven saves and 2.42 ERA in 26 appearances.
Catcher Cole Urman was selected with the 481st overall pick in the 16th round by the Baltimore Orioles. Urman caught 49 of 56 games behind the plate for the Titans last season while hitting .270 with 30 runs and 30 RBI and four home runs.
Caden Connor was drafted by the Chicago White Sox with the 569th overall pick in the 19th round. Connor led the Titans with a .330 batting average while driving in 45 runs which ranked second on the team. In his three full seasons at Fullerton, Connor hit .322 with 109 runs and 106 RBI while recording 213 hits.
The Titans four MLB Draft picks is the most among any team in The Big West Conference. Fullerton has a total of 313 players taken in the MLB Draft dating back to 1968.
