FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball came up short against Long Beach State in game two Saturday night at Goodwin Field to lose 7-4. The Titans are now 28-21 on the year and 17-9 in Big West play.

The Titans fell behind early after Long Beach scored one run in the first inning and four runs in the second to take a 5-0 lead. Fullerton's starting pitcher, Fynn Chester, exited the game early in the second inning after an apparent injury.

Over the next few innings, the Titans fought to get back in the game. Cole Urman scored Zach Lew from third on a productive infield out in the home half of the second inning to get the Titans on the board.

Brendan Bobo came through for the Titans in the fourth inning with an RBI double to score Lew and make it a 5-2 game. Bobo had a productive game at the plate, going 3-for-5 with an RBI.

With the bases loaded and two outs in the fifth inning, freshman Eli Lopez singled to right field to bring home Caden Connor and cut the deficit to just two runs.

Urman recorded his second RBI of the game in the seventh to drive in Lew and make it a one run game, 5-4. Urman went 2-for-5 on the night with two RBI while Lew went 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs.

While recording some timely hits, the Titans were never able to drive in more than one run in an inning and left a total of 11 runners on base.

Long Beach State went on to score one run in the eighth and ninth inning to extend its lead to 7-4.

Fullerton looks to stave off a series sweep in game three Sunday afternoon on senior day. The senior ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. prior to first pitch at 1:00 p.m.
