FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton had two players selected on the third and final day of the 2019 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday.

It's now the 45th straight season the Titans have had at least one player selected in the MLB Draft and the seventh consecutive year with multiple players picked in the draft.

Daniel Cope was selected with the 399th pick in the 13th round by the Colorado Rockies. Sahid Valenzuela was also taken in the 13th round by the Oakland Athletics with the 404th pick.

Cope battled through injuries during the 2019 season but had a strong performance while on the field. He finished the year batting .278 with 19 RBI and two home runs while being a strong defensive catcher behind the plate.

Valenzuela dealt with injuries as well, forcing his season to end short. Even while missing the final 14 games of the season, Valenzuela finished with 24 RBI and 29 runs while hitting .288 at the plate with a .403 on-base percentage.
