NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton scored six runs in the sixth inning to break the game open leading to a 9-2 victory over CSUN in the final game of  the season Saturday afternoon at Matador Field.

With the win, the Titans finish the season 27-26 and keep the streak alive of never having a losing season in the history of the program.

Isaiah Garcia and Kameron Guangorena hit back-to-back singles to start the sixth inning before AJ Curtis was able to advance them on a sacrifice bunt. One batter later, Jairus Richards doubled down the right field line to drive in two runs and give the Titans their first lead since the top of the first inning.

Fullerton wasn't done there, with runners on second and third Jacob Pavletich hit a two RBI single down the right field line to extend the Titans lead in what was his last game as a Titan.

Later in the inning Hank LoForte hit a two RBI triple to the gap in right center, tying him for the record with most triples in the history of the program with 18. However, LoForte wasn't satisfied with being tied for the record, in the eighth inning he tripled to right field to set the record for most triples at 19.

LoForte had an impressive final game, going 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs, three RBI and a career-high two triples. LoForte ends the season with a .302 average and a .297 average for his career. Fellow seniors, Pavletich and Richards combined on the day for four RBI.

Mitchell Berryhill finishes his outstanding season going 3-for-5 on the day with two runs. Berryhill ends the season with a .415 average to rank him sixth in the nation and place him in the record book with the fifth highest batting average in a single season in the history of the program.

Joe Magrisi picked up his first win of the season after coming on in relief in the fourth inning, pitching four innings and giving up just one hit. Landon Anderson pitched the final two innings and allowed just three hits.

The Titans return a strong core of players for the 2020 season as they look to get back to the postseason and begin a new streak of consecutive years to the NCAA Tournament.
