FULLERTON, Calif. – The Titans scrapped together seven hits, but left seven on base in the contest, as Fullerton fell 3-1 in the series finale to Long Beach State, Sunday afternoon at Goodwin Field.

Andrew Quezada made his first Sunday start of the year on the mound and was absolutely phenomenal, surrendering just four hits in 6.0 shutdown innings, while fanning one.

Brett Conine also pitched 1.1 scoreless frames out of the bullpen.

Ruben Cardenas led the way offensively with two hits from the leadoff spot in his first game back since his one game suspension. Hank LoForte picked up a hit and a walk, while Sahid Valenzuela recorded a knock and scored the only run of the game for the Titans.

Daniel Cope produced a double and the lone RBI for Fullerton, while Mitchell Berryhill and Brett Borgogno each collected hits.

LBSU put up a three spot in the top of the eighth, but Fullerton was able to respond immediately in the bottom half of the frame.

Cardenas led off the inning with a single to right, but then a double play put the Titans in a desperate situation. However, Valenzuela came through with two outs, reaching on a leadoff single. Then Cope doubled him in, shooting a rocket down the left field line to make it just a 3-1 deficit.

Unfortunately for Fullerton, there just wasn't enough time left for it to complete the comeback.

Titans will close out the eight-game homestand, Tuesday at 6 pm PT vs. USC.
