IRVINE, Calif.--- Cal State Fullerton junior Scott Hurst notched Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week honors after sparking the Titans to a series win at Hawai'i on .583 hitting, the league office announced on Monday
The center fielder had an efficient week from the leadoff spot, posting a .643 on-base percentage, including reaching base 10 of the first 11 times at the plate to begin the series. He had seven hits in 12 at-bats.
Hurst went 4-for-4 with a double and triple to lead the Titans to a 3-1 victory in the series opener. He scored a pair of runs, including the game-winner in the fifth and added an insurance RBI single in the seventh. He also walked and stole a base.
He posted his second straight multi-hit game in Saturday's 4-1 loss, finishing 2-for-3 with a walk.
In Sunday's rubber game, Hurst had a 1-for-5 performance with a run scored as the Titans won 6-2, cementing their ninth series victory of the year.
Hurst's award marks the first time the Titans have claimed a Big West Field Player of the Week honor this year. Fullerton has been awarded Big West Pitcher of the Week on four separate occasions.
Others nominated: Nolan Bumstead (CSUN); Ryan Anderson (UC Davis); Michael Farris (UC Riverside); Johnny Weeks (Hawai'i)
