LAKE ELSINORE, Calif.--- The Titans were playing catch up from the very beginning on Tuesday, surrendering eight runs in the first two innings en route to an 11-6 defeat at the hands of San Diego out at The Diamond.

For Fullerton (23-12), the loss snaps what was a four-game win streak against San Diego, as Joe Wills dropped his first decision of the year in his third start of the season vs. the Toreros.

Wills (4-1) lasted just one inning, as he surrendered five runs on five hits. CJ Burdick (2-1) earned the win for San Diego (26-9), going 3.1 innings in relief.

Offensively Chris Prescott led the way, notching two hits and a walk in two at bats. Niko Pacheco came through with a double on the night, while Jake Pavletich delivered a double and two RBI in his only plate appearance. Zach Weller and Hunter Cullen each scored two runs apiece.

The Toreros got off to an 8-0 lead through the first two innings, but the Titans found a way to grind back.

Weller and JT McLellan both walked in the fifth inning to put runners at first and second with just one out. Then back-to-back wild pitches led to a run for the Titans. Scott Hurst reached on a fielder's choice to bring home the second run of the inning to cut the deficit to 8-2.

Pacheco then delivered in the sixth, as he drove in Persinger and Cullen who walked and singled respectively to make it an 8-4 ballgame.

However, San Diego scratched across two runs off of three hits in the seventh to stretch things back to a 10-4 game.

Pavletich shot a rocket into the left center gap with one out in the eighth to bring home McLellan and Cullen who each walked to make it a 10-6 contest, but that's as close as the Titans would get.

The Titans now turn their attention back to Big West play, as they'll head to San Luis Obispo to take on Cal Poly in a three-game series, beginning Friday at 6 pm PT.
