Titans in the Pros: Dylan Floro Makes MLB Debut

ST. PETERSBURG – Former Cal State Fullerton right-handed pitcher Dylan Floro made his Major League debut on Thursday, July 7, just one day after getting called up to the Big Leagues.

In his debut, Floro became the 61st Titan in program history to see action in an MLB game after pitching 1.1 innings of work for the Tampa Bay Rays in a 5-1 loss against the Los Angeles Angels. Floro gave up one run and struck out two batters in the relief appearance.

The native of Merced, Calif., began his pro career after being drafted in the 13th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Rays in 2012.

In the Minor Leagues, Floro compiled a 36-30 overall record with a 3.30 ERA in 124 games with 73 starts. He tallied six complete games, three shutouts and nine saves. Floro notched 351 strikeouts against 78 walks in 526.1 innings pitched.

Floro played for the Titans from 2010-12 and finished his collegiate career with a 21-8 record in 69 appearances with 27 starts and five complete games. He posted a 3.28 ERA and tallied 178 strikeouts while issuing just 37 walks in 260.2 innings of work.
