Titans in the Pros: Dylan Floro Gets Call Up to Tampa Bay Rays

TAMPA BAY – Former Cal State Fullerton right-handed pitcher Dylan Floro will become the 61st Titan to appear in a Major League Baseball game after getting the call to The Show with the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. Floro will be in uniform wearing No. 49 at Tropicana Field in the game against the Los Angeles Angels tonight at 7:10 p.m. (ET).

Floro was called up after the Rays designated reliever Dana Eveland for assignment. At the time, Floro was playing with the Durham Bulls of the Carolina League where the starting pitcher was converted to the bullpen this season.

As a reliever for the Bulls, Floro made 30 appearances in 2016 and owns a 2.81 ERA in 48.0 innings of work. He also was selected to the 29th Annual Sonic Automotive Triple-A All-Star Game which is scheduled for July 13. It was Floro's second selection to a Minor League All-Star game as he was named an All-Star with Single-A Bowling Green in 2013.

Floro played three years at Cal State Fullerton from 2010-12 and compiled a 21-8 record and a 3.28 ERA in 69 appearances with 27 starts and five complete games. As a Titan, Floro collected 178 strikeouts against 37 walks in 260.2 innings pitched.

The Merced, Calif., native was selected in the 13th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft by the Rays out of Cal State Fullerton.
