Big West Player of the Week Release

IRVINE, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton first baseman Tanner Pinkston was named the Big West Conference Field Player of the week, it was announced Monday.

Pinkston became the first Titans player to earn the conference's field player award this season. Connor Seabold and Colton Eastman have each been named the conference's pitcher of the week this season.

The Titans first baseman reached base in all three games against UC Davis this past weekend, extending his streak to 14 straight games, a new team best.

Pinkston collected three straight three-hit games in the sweep over the Aggies. He batted .643 with four runs scored and five RBIs for the weekend. He slugged .929 with a double and a home run against UC Davis.

He drove in three runs in the Titans 10-0 win on Friday night and followed that with his second home run of the season in game two en route to a second straight 3-for-4 day at the plate. In the finale, Pinkston had an RBI double, scored two runs and stole a base to help Fullerton complete the sweep.

Pinkston has now hit safely in five straight games and leads the team with a .472 batting average in nine conference games. Overall, Pinkston is second on the team with a .320 batting average, having played in all 34 of the team's games this year. He leads the team in doubles (11), RBIs (24), hits (41) and runs scored (29).

The senior out of Dublin, Calif. was batting .237 on March 24 but has since improved his average by 83 points going into this week's games against CSU Bakersfield and UNLV. Of his 10 multi-hit games, eight of them have been of the three-hit variety. He also leads the Titans with five multi-RBI games.
