Loss to Titan Baseball Family with Mark Shimamoto's Passing

The Cal State Fullerton Athletics Department and Titan Baseball lost a member of its family recently with the passing of former infielder Mark Shimamoto. He was 46 years old.

 

Cal State Fullerton baseball head coach Rick Vanderhook as well as the Titan Athletics Department, extend their sincere condolences to Shimamoto's family, friends and former Titan teammates.

 

Services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 2 at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple located at 815 East First Street, Los Angeles, CA, 90012.

The native of Fountain Valley, Calif., appeared on a Titan roster from 1987-91, playing in 14 games.

 

A two-year letterman at Fountain Valley High School, his team won the CSF 4-A Southern Section championship at Anaheim Stadium in 1995. He was also a three-time All-Star selection for the District 62 Big League Team.

 

His older sister Linda served as a statistician for the Titans under Augie Garrido in the 1980s.
