FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton Cross Country program hosted its annual PRs & Pancakes Fundraiser this past Saturday, August 27th. Alumni, family, friends, and fans joined the student-athletes and coaching staff at the Titan Track Complex for a 5K & Kiddie Run followed by a get-together that saw more than 100 people in attendance and helped raise more than $20,000 for the program.
"This fundraiser is always great to have before the start of the season," head coach Marques Barosso said. "I was excited to see all of the alumni, administrators, and families at our event supporting our cross country program. It was especially wonderful to have President Virjee and his wife, Julie, in attendance. I know our student-athletes who were at the event loved it and felt the support. Special thanks to Coach Jessica Wright and the philanthropic team for putting on an amazing event."
"Every dollar raised will help supply our men's and women's teams with meals, snacks, vitamins, and gear," Barosso said. We appreciate everyone who has given to our program. Big thank you to Dr. Scott Hewitt, professor emeritus, and alumnus Robert Miyoshi for their gifts. We hope we can make our Titan Family proud by bringing home championships. There is a bright future ahead for these young teams and we can't thank our supporters enough!"
Coach Barosso and Titan Cross Country will open up the 2022 season hosting the Mark Covert Classic this Saturday, Sept. 3 at Carbon Canyon Park before heading to Springfield, OR for the Bill Dellinger Invite on September 23rd.
