FULLERTON, Calif. – Titan Women finish second overall at the 2021 Titan Invite with a score of 51 points (2-7-10-12-20). Led by Sophomore Olivia Ruiz who finished second among collegiate athletes and fifth overall after running a new personal best 5k time of 18:11.9. The next four finishers who scored for the Titans consisted of Emily Olson (18:34.8), Marikay Schwab (18:46.8), Alexandra Cilley (18:52.7), and Saraj Jamil (19:07.9).
In the men's 8k, multiple PRs were set by three of the four Titans who competed: JT McCoy (25:49.9), Daniel Guzman (25:51.6), and Nicolas DiConti (26:08.1). Sophomore John Welch rounded out the fourth spot for the Titans in a time of 26:45.9.
The men and women A-teams are set to compete next week at the Big West Conference Championships on Friday October 29th at Wildhorse Golf Club in Davis, California. First race is schedule to start at 9:00 a.m. PT.
