SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Cal State Fullerton track and field wrapped up the 2023 campaign Friday at the NCAA West Prelims, with Reyte Rash and John Clifford each competing in the quarterfinal round of their respective events. 

Clifford, the 2023 Big West Men's Track Co-Athlete of the Year, ran in lane nine in the first heat of the men's 100m. He had advanced to Friday's quarterfinal round after running a 10.40 in the first round on Wednesday. He ran a time of 10.52 on Friday, placing 23rd overall as the top-12 times advanced to the NCAA Championships. 

Rash competed in lane three in the second heat of the men's 400m hurdles, having qualified for Friday's quarterfinal round after running a school-record 50.76 in the first round on Wednesday. He ran a time of 51.92 Friday, placing 20th overall with the top-12 times advancing to the NCAA Championships. 

The results mark the end of a successful 2023 season for the Titans, which included the men's team winning its third consecutive Big West Championship at home earlier this month. Head Coach Marques Barosso was also named Big West Men's Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.
