TF Men Complete Day of NCAA West Preliminaries

College Station, Texas - The NCAA Track and Field West Preliminaries began on Wednesday on the campus of Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. Wednesday and Friday are the men's days of competition while the women compete on Thursday and Saturday. The Cal State Fullerton men's track and field had four student-athletes compete on Wednesday and none of them advanced in their respective events.

Charles Kelly competed in the 110-meter hurdles and clocked a wind-aided time of 14.20 (+2.6) to take 39th place overall in the event. Kelly then ran the 400-meter hurdles along with Reyte Rash. Kelly took 24th place overall with a time 51.29 while Rash was 41st at 52.87.

Sam Ayala ran the 1,500-meter race in 3:48.56 to take 31st place overall.

Christian Wood competed in the long jump and posted a mark of 24-0.75 (7.33m, +1.6 wind) to take 30th place.
