FULLERTON, Calif. - The men's and women's track and field teams will represent Cal State Fullerton at the NCAA Championships on June 5-8 in Austin, Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas. The men compete on Wednesday and Friday while the women compete at Thursday and Saturday. The entire meet will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.

On Wednesday at 7:48 p.m. PT, the men's 4x400-meter relay team will run in lane two of the first heat. The top two finishers in each of the three heats and then the next two fastest times overall advance to Friday's final at 7:51 p.m. PT. The previous season-best time of 3:08.48 set by Parris Samaniego, Rasaun House, Chris Shiley and Marcel Espinoza was good for a first-place finish at the Big West Championships, marking the program's first win in that event since 2002. The quartet then bested that time by roughly three seconds, 3:05.16, at the NCAA West Preliminaries to secure their spot in the semifinal at Austin.

Samantha Huerta will start in lane one in the first heat of the women's 800-meter race at 6:44 p.m. PT on Thursday. The top two finishers in each of the three heats and then the next two fastest times overall advance to Saturday's final at 4:44 p.m. PT. She entered the NCAA West Prelims with the No. 7 ranked mark at 2:04.33 and then she clocked a school-record time of 2:03.96 in the women's 800 meters to take fourth place in her heat and ninth overall, becoming the first Titan ever to compete in the event at the NCAA Championships. Huerta has turned in an impressive 2019 outdoor season thus far, breaking each of her own three school records and becoming the first Titan to ever win Big West titles in both the 800 meters and 1,500 meters in the same meet. She was named Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Year for her accomplishments.

Iesha Hamm is set to high jump at 3 p.m. PT on Saturday. Hamm cleared 5-10.75 (1.80m) at the NCAA West Preliminaries to tie for sixth place overall to earn a spot in the final in Austin. She is the first Titan to ever compete at the NCAA Championships in the event. Hamm broke her own school record at the Big West Championships with a 5-11.25 (1.81m) clearance, good for a first-place finish, making her the first Titan to ever win a conference title in the high jump.
