FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton men's and women's cross country and track and field teams have added 37 newcomers to the program for the upcoming 2018-19 academic year. It was announced by head coach John Elders on Monday.

The large crop of newcomers cover each of the event areas, with athletes that compete in each of the sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws and distance events. Within that group there are multiple state champions and athletes that have had success at the highest level of high school athletics.

"I think our coaching staff has done a great job of putting this class together," Elders said. "We have a group of student-athletes that we think will fit in seamlessly. They can contribute to our culture and hopefully help us continue to win Big West Championships on the men's side and start winning titles on the women's side."

The Titans lost a productive group of seniors last year but have been able to reload with this year's class.

"Individually, we think these athletes will be able to grow here and eventually make it to the NCAA West Regionals and the NCAA Championships," Elders said.
