Titans Have Successful Day on the Field at Mt. SAC Relays

TORRANCE, Calif. --- Naiah Boardingham set her second school record of her freshman year, while senior Ty'Jalayah Robertson matched her personal best and Cal State Fullerton record at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday on the campus of El Camino College.

"We've had some really positive performances over the past two days," head coach John Elders said. "We definitely had some breakthroughs in the field events. I am looking forward to continued improvement in the coming weeks. I really like where our team is at right now. We have lots of optimism and positive energy in our group."

Boardingham's mark of 19'6" in the long jump was good for a third place finish and set the new Cal State Fullerton record, besting Anna Doty's mark of 19"5.25 from 2002 in just her second outdoor competition of the season. The mark currently ranks fourth in the Big West Conference. This is the second record that Boardingham has broken during her freshman year after opening the indoor season with a new long jump record of 5.70 meters at the Lumberjack Team Challenge on Jan. 21.

In the high jump, Robertson matched her school record and PR of 5'8", placing second in the event. She previously hit the mark in 2015.

Bryn Williamson won the pole vault at 12'11.5" on Friday, while senior placed second in the high jump with a season best mark of 5'8".

Junior Anthony Applequist finished second in the triple jump at 50'1".

With a new personal best mark of 155'0", freshman Bertha Sola placed fourth in the discus throw.

In addition, Edwin Mathews' height of 6'8.75" placed fourth in the high jump.

Diego Courbis placed fifth in the 400 meter hurdles, clocking a time of 52.21, which is not only a PR, but leads the Big West this season.

In his fastest time of the year, senior Darion Zimmerman placed sixth in the 400 meters in a time of 47.66,
