In winning the triple jump with a mark of 51-00.00 at Long Beach State's Jack Rose Track, he set a new meet record.
Applequist is the only Big West competitor to exceed 51 feet this year in the triple jump.
His best performance came on Mar. 31 at the UCLA Legends Invite when he leaped 51-02.75.
Applequist also had a solid fourth-place effort in the long jump as he established a PR with a distance of 23-00.50.
Applequist is the fifth Titan in 2017 to earn a Big West weekly award, and the fourth in the last three weeks. Last week Darion Zimmerman was voted Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Bryn Williamson was voted Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week on April 4.
On March 28, Diego Courbis was named Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week as well. Trevor Gorwin was named Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week on March 14.
The Cal State Fullerton outdoor track and field team has a busy week ahead with four meets on the schedule, beginning with the CA Invitational Combined Events meet at Azusa Pacific on Wednesday and Thursday for the decathlon and heptathlon.
Fullerton will return to Jack Rose Track on the campus of Long Beach State on Thursday for the 2017 Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and also travel to Azusa for the Brian Clay Invitational on Thursday.
The week will conclude as El Camino College hosts the Mt. SAC Relays at Murdock Stadium from Thursday-Saturday.
