Williamson Breaks Own Fullerton Record; Titans Continue to Set New PRs

LOS ANGELES --- Junior Bryn Williamson broke her own Cal State Fullerton pole vault record on Saturday at the UCLA Legends Invitational at Drake Stadium.

Williamson placed second in the event as her mark of 13'0.25" (3.97 meters) set the new Fullerton record. The Bakersfield, Calif., native became the first Titan to clear 13 feet in the history of the program. Earlier this season on March 4, Williamson's mark of 3.93 meters at the RCC Quad Meet had broken CSF's previous pole vault record (3.92 m) which had stood since 2003.

Darion Zimmerman placed third in both the 100 meters (10.57) and 200 meters (21.13) as the senior set personal bests in both events. In addition, Zimmerman's time in the 200 meters is tops in the Big West Conference this season.

Freshman Samantha Huerta recorded a third-place finish in the 800 meters as her time of 2:11.80 was a new PR. Also, sophomore Zuri Henderson set a new personal best in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.48.

At 15.61 meters, junior Anthony Applequist placed first in the triple jump with his best mark of the season.

Junior Isaiah Marshall placed third in the men's 1,500 meters as his time of 3:59.23 was a PR as he was under four minutes for the first time this year.

Junior Gabe Toscano clocked a season-best time of 1:54.10 in the 800 meters, while Edwin Matthews' mark of 2.06 meters in the high jump was also a season best.

The Titans return to action on Friday at the Big West Challenge in Long Beach.
