IRVINE, Calif. --- Cal State Fullerton sophomore Diego Courbis was named the co-Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Courbis posted a winning time in the 400 meter hurdles at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic.  He finished in 52.52, the top time in the Big West by .84 seconds this season, and ranked him No. 15 in the West Region and No. 23 in the NCAA.

He shared the honor with UC Irvine senior Lloyd Sicard who won the 110 meter hurdles and then contributed to a meet record in the 4x400 relay at the UC Riverside Spring Track Classic.

UC Santa Barbara's Jenna Hinkle was named Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week, UC Riverside senior Carl Nahigian was named Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week and Long Beach State senior Riley Cooks was named Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Courbis is the second Titan to receive Big West weekly honors in 2017 as Trevor Gorwin was named Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week on March 14.

The Titans return to action on Friday and Saturday at the UCLA Legends Invite.
