Titans Open Indoor Track & Field Season with Multiple Wins

SEATTLE — Three Titans took home individual first-place finishes while the men's 4x400m relay team also placed first Saturday as the Cal State Fullerton indoor track & field team opened the 2023 season at the UW Indoor Preview. 

Matthew Uballe won the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.04 after also finishing first in preliminaries. Justin Lowe posted a 47.72 in the men's 400m to take the win, while Hawkin Miller won the men's shot put with a mark of 16.57m/54-04.50. 

The Titans raced two teams in the men's 4x400m relay, with Reyte Rash, Chris Goode, Isaiah Emerson and Justin Lowe taking first after securing a time of 3:14.13. Fullerton's other 4x400m men's relay team composed of Matt Cohen, Alonzo Floriolli, John Clifford and Andrew Aguilar placed third with a time of 3:23.64. 

A flurry of additional Titans earned podium finishes on the day, including Trinity Barnett, who finished second in the women's 60m with a time of 7.54. Abel Jordan placed third in the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.09, while Reyte Rash took third in the men's 400m with a 48.49. 

Christian Wood (2nd, 7.32m/24-00.25) and Will Dower (3rd, 7.11m/23-04.00) finished on the podium in the men's long jump. London Lee posted a second-place finish in the women's triple jump (11.72m/38-05.50) and Joshua Tan took third in the men's weight throw with a new peronal-best (17.33m/56-10.25). 

The women's 4x400m relay team, made up of Alero Soaris, Tayla Brunger, Jayde Charlton and Arionn Livingston, placed second with a time of 3:52.55 to wrap up a successful season-opening meet for the Titans. 

Up next, Fullerton travels to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to compete in the Martin Luther King Jr. Invite on Saturday, January 21st.
