FACE, supported by Athletic Director Jim Donovan and Athletics Academic Services, is an opportunity for student-athletes at Cal State Fullerton to network and engage personally with prospective employers and help prepare for life after their time at CSUF.

This networking event is a win-win opportunity for both employers and Titan student-athletes.  Employers will have a unique chance to engage with Titan student-athletes who are excited to lead and become prospective candidates for internships and full-time employment.

"As a hiring manager who is constantly looking for top tier talent, I was blown away with the caliber and professionalism of students who attended the 2015 FACE Expo,” TJ Johnson, district sales manager for Federated Commercial Insurance said.  “I am excited to be a part of the second-annual Expo and expect to find a solid candidate ready to take on our sales career opportunity and be highly rewarded for their hard work."

There will be over 50 companies present at FACE including Northwestern Mutual-Newport Beach, Federated Insurance, Bay Alarm, Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles Fire Department, Fullerton Police Department, Orange County Sheriff's Department, Orange County Fire Authority, Eastbay, Pepsico-Frito Lay and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

“FACE was a great opportunity to network and build relationships with possible future employers and campus partners,” former Cal State Fullerton track and field student-athlete Morgan Thompson said. “The experience of talking directly to employers and other colleges on campus was insightful and rewarding. This is a great event, it was exciting to see how many top companies attended and it was equally exciting to hear how many athletes got interviews and jobs.”

Along with businesses, student-athletes will have an opportunity to seek guidance on furthering their education while at Cal State Fullerton. Representatives from different colleges within the Cal State Fullerton campus will be on hand with information regarding graduate programs, while alumni will also be available to share how they used their respective degrees to pursue their profession.

“Meeting the university athletes last year was a fantastic experience,” Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Dana Rosen said. “Most are very focused and have their career paths well thought out.  Still, they were open to talking about how earning a master's degree could strengthen their careers.  I attended to share information about the College of Communications' M.A. programs, and I am looking forward to attending FACE again this year.”

Former Cal State Fullerton football player Danny Pasquil with the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division will be on hand to give student-athletes insight on how to apply and prepare for government employment.

FACE will be open to all student-athletes, freshmen through seniors.

“The career expo is a fantastic opportunity for CSUF student-athletes, employers, campus partners and campus colleges to extend the conversation of future goals and aspirations to include face-to-face dialogue,” life skills coordinator and FACE coordinator Pam Newton said. “It is an ideal situation for student-athletes to build relationships, network and start to build a professional network for future employment and internship possibilities.  The companies in attendance are great when it comes to sharing their experiences, along with their specific employment needs.”
