IRVINE, Calif. - The Big West Spring All-Academic Team were announced on Wednesday and a total of 67 student-athletes were selected to the 2019-20 Big West Winter All-Academic Team in the sports of men's and women's basketball. Additionally, the league announced a record 634 student-athletes, obliterating the old mark of 456 set in 2018. Cal State Fullerton had five honorees for the women's basketball team and then 50 honorees for the spring.
The 634 recipients were honored in the sports of baseball, softball, beach volleyball, men's volleyball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track & field, and women's water polo. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes are required to maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, compete one full year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received (at least a sophomore academically), and competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests. Track and field was exempt from the participation requirement this year as that season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
