Val Ayala joined the Titans men’s water polo program in 2023 as an assistant coach for their inaugural season.
Ayala graduated from UCLA in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. After graduating, Ayala returned to UCLA as a graduate student working to earn a master’s degree in transformative coaching and leadership.
While working on her degree from 2019-22, Ayala scored 110 goals in 102 games for the Bruins. In 2019, she was one of nine Bruins representing Team USA at the FINA Women’s Junior World Championship in Portugal. That same year, she scored eight goals for Team USA at the World University Games in Italy (8th place). She also played in Greece for national teams.
Ayala is a 4x collegiate All-American and 3x All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation award recipient.
