SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- The Titans won their first match of the weekend blanking Cal Poly 4-0 before their match against UC Santa Barbara on Sunday.
Fullerton moves to 13-4 this season with two matches left in the regular season.
Cal State Fullerton (5-1) keeps the lead in the Big West standings. UC Santa Barbara is second with four wins and one loss.
This 4-0 win represents the fifth time the Titans were able to blank their opponent.
The team also confirms their good shape when playing away with their fifth win for only three losses.
DOUBLES
Fullerton took the early lead in the match winning the doubles at No.1 and No.3.
Karla Portalatin and Sarah Nuno were pairing up at No.1 against Louie-Meadors and Ackerman. The Titans picked up the first win of the day with a 6-1 result.
The Mustangs' answer came on Court No.2 where Masako Makiba and Caisey Lee Emery came short 5-7 against the pair of Boyden and Olyphant.
It all came down to the result of the third doubles. Jadie Acidera and Genevieve fought hard against Worsnop and Williams. The match went all the way to the tiebreaker where the two Titans were able to secure Fullerton's first point of the day.
SINGLES
Genevieve Zeidan at No.3 had a really strong performance. She allowed her opponent to score only one game in the first set. She picked up the second point with her 6-1,6-0 win.
Luxizi Meng quickly followed Zeidan and picked the win at No.5 in straight sets. Fullerton was up 3-0 with Meng's 6-1,6-2 win.
The Titans only needed one more point to get the win. Sarah Nuno at No.2 who was able to dominate Boyden 7-5,6-2 that offered Fullerton their fifth conference win of the season.
