Fullerton Falls 5-2 to #11 USC

LOS ANGELES, Calif.- Cal State Fullerton came short against #11 USC in last non-conference match of the regular season.

Fullerton moves to 11-4 this season as they come close to the end of the regular season.
USC stays undefeated with a 8-0 all-time record against Cal State Fullerton.
The Titans counts three wins and three losses while playing away before playing their three next matches on the road.
The team is 3-1 in conference play and can still fight for the top seed in the Big West conference.

The highlight of the day came from Genevieve Zeidan who was able to pick a win at No.3 against nationally ranked #123 Anna Neffa.

DOUBLES
The Trojans took the early lead in this dual by taking the doubles point.

Eira Tobrand and Luxizi Meng were pairing on Court No.3  against Constance Branstine and Ana Neffa. The Trojans did not leave the Titans a chance as they picked up the first win of the day 6-0.
On Court No.2, Masako Makiba and Caisey Lee Emery also fell short 6-0 against the USC duo of Salma Ewing and Danielle Willson. USC took the doubles point with this second doubles win.
At No.1, Karla Portalatin and Sarah Nuno were down 2-5 against the nationally ranked pair of Angela Kulivov/Rianna Valdes (14) before the point was clinched and the match stopped.

SINGLES
Luxizi Meng had a good start on Court No.5 as she won the first set 6-1 against Constance Branstine. The USC athlete was forced to retire before starting the second set giving Fullerton its first point of the day.

Eira Tobrand was facing Sydney Van Alphen on Court No.6. The USC athlete took the win in two sets 6-1,6-1 to give the Trojans back the lead.

Sarah Nuno was at No.3 facing #87 Angela Kulikov. The Titans came short 1-6,3-6 as USC moved to 3-1 and closer to the win.

Genevieve Zeidan was also facing a nationally ranked opponent in singles. The Titan was able to top #123 Ana Neffa on Court No.3 in only two sets 6-4,6-3. The Titans were only one point away from USC.

After a close battle in the first set, Karla Portalatin was not able to upset #43 Salma Ewing at No.1. The two-set win 7-5,6-2 allowed USC to secure the win for the Trojans.

Last one of the courts was Caisey Lee Emery who went down in two sets against #122 Danielle Willson.

The Titans return to conference play for their next four matches. First, they will go to UC Irvine on Saturday, April 6th at 11:00am P.T.
