Honolulu, Hawai'i – The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team lost its match against Southern Methodist University, 5-2, on Thursday at the University of Hawai'i's UH Tennis Complex.
The Titans avoided the sweep in the doubles matches when Emilia Borkowski and Kalika Slevcove defeated SMU's Yana Erkeeva and Mary Wright 7-6 to earn the lone Fullerton doubles point.
Fullerton lost the first four singles matches before finishing on a high note and earning points from its No. 1 slot Camille DeLeon and No. 2 slot Megan Sandford. DeLeon was victorious over Hristina Dishkova, 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) and Sandford rounded out the match with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Anna Kate Anderson.
The Titans continue their Hawai'i road trip with a matchup against Big West Conference foe Hawai'I on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
