Off to Northridge Saturday for Women's Tennis

NORTHRIDGE, CA - The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team travels to Northridge Saturday to take on unbeaten CSUN in an 11 a.m. Big West Conference match.

The Matadors are 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Big West competition.  The Titans are 3-4 and looking for their first Big West win after losses to Long Beach State and UC Davis.  The Titans lost to the latter last Saturday, 4-3, while the Matadors beat Davis the next day, 4-3.  CSUN also has a 7-0 win over UC Riverside and a 6-1 decision over Westmont.

Fullerton has been led in Big West play by Camille DeLeon, who is 2-0 at No. 2 singles, and Alexis Valenzuela, who is 1-1 at No. 1 singles.

Mickey Hsu is unbeaten in dual play for CSUN at 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles with Kristen Poei.   Jessica Warren and Kiryang Kim also are 3-0 in singles play.

The Titans have some familiarity with the Northridge venue.  They competed in the Matador Collegiate Invitational the last weekend of October.  Fullerton's doubles team of Kalika Slevcove and Emilia Borkowski took first place in the Black bracket at that event.  Slevcove also took second in singles in the silver bracket and Rebekkah Ermac was fourth in the same bracket.

Fullerton hosts Southern Utah in a non-conference affair on Sunday at 11 a.m.  The following weekend it hosts Eastern Michigan and former Big West member Pacific.
