INDIAN WELLS, Calif. - No. 8 Cal State Fullerton earned a 4-0 victory against No. 9 UC Riverside in the first round of the 2014 Big West Women's Tennis Championship at Indian Wells Garden Thursday.
The Titans recorded identical 8-1 victories at the top two doubles spots, with Morgan McIntosh and Camille De Leon defeating Jasmine Almaguer and Kate Bergeson clinching the point at No. 1.
In singles, the Titans continued to roll with De Leon claiming a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Bergeson at No. 3. McIntosh posted a 6-1, 6-0 win versus Courtney Pattugalan at No. 2, and the Titans closed out the match at No. 4 where Kalika Slevcove toppled Tiffany Jue, 6-2, 6-0.
Cal State Fullerton (8-14) advances to Friday's quarterfinal round to face top-seeded Long Beach State at 8:00 a.m.
