FULLERTON, Calif. - Head Coach Kelly Ford announced the addition of one more student-athlete for the upcoming 2022-23 season in Hailey Harris, a two-way player, from the University of Utah. Harris is the latest addition to the squad with the arrivals of Hailey Rainey, Cheyanne Marxer, Mia Weckel, and the previously announced freshman class for the 2023 season.

Harris comes to Cal State Fullerton after spending one season at Utah where she redshirted this past season. Harris was a three sport athlete at Downey High School where she lettered in softball (4 years), volleyball (3 years), and basketball (2 years). She was the 2021 Downey High School athlete of the Year. Led the league in strikeouts with 101 and led her team in batting average (.455). She was named to the All-CIF Dvision 2 Selection team in 2021, the 2021 San Gabriel Valley League Most Valuable Player, a 3-time all SGBL selection, the 2018 San Gabriel Valley League Most Valuable Player, 2-time team mvp and captain, 2 time long beach press telegram dream team member, a 3 time athlete viking award winner. She was ranked nationally as the #29 pitcher in her senior class. She won an Academic Viking award for English Composition/Journalism for three years and graduated with a GPA above 4.0.
She was born in Bellflower, Calif. to Nate and Jennifer Harris and has one sibling, her younger brother Tyler. She plans to pursue a degree in kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton.

She was impressive then and has really matured into a great softball mind. She will be an offensive force for us as well adding to a potent pitching staff.
