Araujo, Miranda Set to Represent Mexican Junior National Team

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton associate head softball coach Jorge Araujo has been named the head coach of the Mexican Junior National Team by the Federacion Mexicana de Softbol. Araujo will be coaching future Titans freshman-to-be Raci Miranda as well.

Araujo will lead the team at three upcoming events beginning with La Copa CDMX in Mexico City on June 8-13.

Following that, Araujo and Miranda will head to Lima, Peru for the inaugural World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Women's Softball World Cup®. Originally scheduled for 2020, the top international youth softball event will now be played from 28 August to 5 September 2021. The elite international youth women's softball event will be hosted at the Villa Maria del Triunfo Complex, the softball site of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

Lastly, the Titan duo will head to Barranquilla, Colombia for the Cali 2021 Junior Pan American Games. The softball tournament will feature eight teams with a maximum of 16 players each, meaning another 128 more athletes are due to complete in Colombia.
