Cal State Fullerton Softball Set for Alumni Game This Saturday

FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton softball program is ready to kick off its annual alumni game and festivities Saturday, Nov. 14, at Anderson Family Field. The event begins at 1 p.m. and first pitch of the alumni game is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.

"We are very excited to host the annual slow pitch alumni game," Cal State Fullerton head coach Kelly Ford said. "The alumni are such an essential part of our future and it's important for them to feel connected to the 2016 team. We are really looking forward to Saturday and all of the festivities. We hope fans, friends and family are able to come out and support our team and alumni."

The event, which is free of charge, begins at 1 p.m. with an alumni tailgate, which will take place in parking lot G on the Cal State Fullerton campus. A home run derby will follow at 3 p.m. just before the game. After the game, which pits alumni versus alumni, the Titans will gather in the VIP lounge for a light dinner.

Former Fullerton head coach, Michelle Gromacki, will be in attendance. Gromacki played for the Titans from 1985-87 and was part of the 1986 National Championship team. She later was hired as the Cal State Fullerton head coach in 2000. During her 13 years at the helm, Gromacki composed a record of 424-302-1 for a .584 winning percentage.

Fans, friends and family are encouraged to come out to Anderson Family Field this weekend to support the Titans and enjoy the alumni game and home run derby.

The Titans hope to see even more supporters at their upcoming Lead Off Social on Saturday, Feb. 6, where the 1986 National Championship team will be honored. Stay tuned to FullertonTitans.com and all CSUF social media channels for more information about the Lead Off Social.
