FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton (24-14, 2-2) softball team dropped the series opener to Big West foe Hawai'i, 5-1, at Anderson Family Field on Friday evening.

UH's Keiki Carlos (2-for-4) and Rachel Lack (2-for-3) produced the only multi-hit performances from either team, each homering and combining for four RBIs.

Kanan Aina Cabrales (11-10) was superb in the circle for the Rainbow Wahine, notching her 10th complete game of the season and limiting the Titans to just one unearned run on five hits. The right-hander stranded six Fullerton runners and fanned three.

Cal State Fullerton lefty Christina Washington (12-4) was the hard luck loser, tossing the full seven frames and yielding five runs on nine hits.

The Titans offense was stagnant all evening with a base runner reaching third base on only two occasions. The only CSF run came in the bottom of the fourth inning from a sacrifice fly off the bat of pinch hitter Lexi Gonzalez which brought home Courtney Rodriguez who reached base earlier in the frame off a fielding error by UH shortstop Sarina Jaramillo.

Cal State Fullerton wraps up the conference series with Hawai'i tomorrow with a doubleheader at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN3 at Anderson Family Field. Autograph Day will follow the series finale, while softball card sets will also be given away.

Game Notes: Sammie Vandiver extended her program record hitting-streak to 22 games in 22 starts with a dragging bunt single in the fifth frame…The five hits for CSF is the lowest output since Feb. 28 when the Titans picked up a 2-0 shutout over Boise State on five hits…Fullerton now owns a 50-13 series record over the Rainbow Wahine as UH lengthens its winning streak to three games…The Titans are now 7-3 on Friday's and 15-7 at the friendly confines of Anderson Family Field…A due of Titans have reached base in 10 or more consecutive games in Vandiver (22) and Missy Taukeiaho (14).
