DAVIS, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's soccer team lost 2-1 on the road against the UC Davis Aggies on Thursday afternoon at Aggie Soccer Field.

The Titans moved to 7-5-5 on the season and 4-2-2 in conference and remained at 14 points. The UC Davis Aggies moved to 7-5-4 for the season and 4-2-2  in conference and moved to 14 points in conference as well.  

The Titans had to play from behind early after allowing UC Davis to score in the second minute on some defensive miscommunication between the central defense and the keeper that allowed Lindsey Porter to sneak by the defense for an easy goal.  

The Titans drew their second penalty of the season after Samantha McKenna was hacked down in the box in the 32nd minute.   Kaya Hawkinson easily buried the penalty past the keeper's right side to equalize the game at 1-1.

The Aggies would once again start the second half with an early lead after a fantastic strike by Emma Vane gave UC Davis a 2-1 lead in the 50th minute.  

The Titans had a couple chances to find the equalizer in the second half but couldn't get it past UC Davis keeper Caeley Goldstein for the rest of game.   Kaytlin Brinkman had a free kick saved in the 64th minute.  The Titans had eight corner kicks in the final 15 minutes and eleven overall for the game.  Hailey Gough had the best chance for the Titans to score after an open header in the 87th minute that was saved on the bottom left corner of the line by Goldstein.  

The Titans will head to the University of Hawai'i on Sunday for their final regular season road game of the season.  Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. PST (4 p.m. HST).
