FullertonTitans.com: Why did you decide to attend Cal State Fullerton and play for the Titans?

Olivia: I have always wanted to play for a top Division I program where I would be able to make an impact on the team, but still stay in Southern California. I chose Cal State Fullerton because it was close to home and in a great college town. The coaches and the program were also a good fit for me because everyone made me feel comfortable, and you can tell they respect and like each other.

FulletonTitans.com: At what age did you start playing the position of goalkeeper, and what do you enjoy about the position?

Olivia: I started playing soccer at age 7 and went fulltime as a goalkeeper around U11. Life can be crazy, but when I am in the goal, I feel like I am in complete control. I like that I can see everything that is going on on the field from my box, and when I am in there, there are really no surprises.

FullertonTitans.com: If you were stranded on a desert island, what is the one thing you would bring and why?

Olivia: Chicken nuggets and ranch dressing…maybe a utility knife.

FullertonTitans.com: The Titans have had a talented number of goalkeepers throughout the program's history, what would you say your strengths are?

Olivia: My strengths are my athleticism, my ability to read the game and direct from the back, and my distribution.

FullertonTitans.com: If you weren't playing soccer, what sport would you be playing?

Olivia: Competitive Dodgeball

FullertonTitans.com: You led the Big VIII this season with a 0.4 goals against average as Norco finished the season 17-6-4 and second place in league. What was your most memorable moment from your senior season?

Olivia: Tying Santiago High School – the state champs this year – was not only the highlight of my senior year of soccer, but probably the highlight of my entire high school soccer career. Santiago has proven to be one of the best teams in the state, and it was amazing that our team was able to tie, when just a few years ago we were at the bottom of our bracket. It was one of my strongest performances and you would have thought we won the World Cup, but to us, it was just as good, and we were really proud of ourselves.

FullertonTitans.com: Who is your favorite athlete and why?

Olivia: Marcus Mariota and of course, Manny Pacquiao. I love them both because of their humility, their dedication to their sport, their loyalty to their families a and hometowns, and their desire to always try to be better than the day before.
