Titans Open Spring Schedule Sunday as They Host UCLA

FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team will begin its challenging seven-game spring schedule this Sunday as the Titans host UCLA for a match on Sunday at Titan Stadium.

The match was originally scheduled to be played at UCLA but the venue has been switched to Titan Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. Admission to Sunday's game as well as the rest of the Titans spring games is free.

Fullerton will play seven matches in the spring including five at Titan Stadium.

Returners for the 2015 team include 2014 Big West Conference Player of the Year Rebecca Wilson along with Morgan Batcheller and Christina Burkenroad, all of whom received NSCAA All-West Region honors in 2014. Other Titans returning include Connie Caliz, Amanda Howard, Ivy Diego and goalkeeper Jennifer Stuart.

The Bruins finished the 2014 season ranked fifth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, compiling a 21-1-2 record, and falling to Virginia, 2-1, in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament after producing a record-breaking season. UCLA had pieced together a 44-game unbeaten streak which included a NCAA title in 2013. With a Pac-12 record of 10-0-1, the Bruins claimed their 11th and second consecutive conference championship in 2014 as well.

Following Sunday's match, Fullerton will welcome USC (10 a.m.) and Cal Poly Pomona (2 p.m.), on Saturday, March 28 at Titan Stadium. The Trojans finished the 2014 season with a record of 12-6-3 and played Pepperdine to a 1-1 tie in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but were eliminated by way of penalty kicks, 4-2.
