AURORA, Ore. – Senior Martina Edberg continued to etch her name in the Cal State Fullerton record books Tuesday as she recorded her second straight victory at the Rose City Collegiate hosted by Portland State at Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora, Ore.

Edberg became the first Titans golfer to win consecutive tournaments in the program's recorded history, dating back to the 2009-10 season when the women's golf program was reinstated. The Glumslov, Sweden native shot a 4-under 212 at the tournament, edging Poy Prasurtwong (Southern Utah) and Sofie Babic (Sacramento State) by one stroke on the individual leaderboard. It was Edberg's sixth career

"She is one of the most talented players I've ever watched play in college golf," Titans head coach Pearl Sinn-Bonanni said. "The way she's going she may win all the tournaments this fall as long she stays healthy and manages her classwork!"

Edberg shot an even-par 72 on Tuesday after entering the day tied for the lead with Elyse Smidinger of Oregon State. While Smidinger slid on day two, Edberg was steady on the day as she posted 14 pars on the day with a pair of birdies and bogeys. She sat at 5-under after hitting a birdie on the 504-yard par-5 No. 11 but slid back to even after a bogey on No. 16.

Prasurtwong made a late charge for the lead as she posted a 4-under 68 on day three and was just one stroked back with two to play after consecutive birdies on No. 15 and 16, but she settled for par on each of the last two holes to stay one back of Edberg overall.

The victory is now Edberg's sixth career win and marks the first second time she was won multiple tournaments in the same season. During her freshman campaign, Edberg won the Juli Inkster Spartan Invite (March 3-4, 2014) and the Big West Conference Individual Title (April 13-15, 2014). Edberg also recorded three more rounds of par or better, which extended her own school record to 37 rounds of par or better in her career.

As for the Titans, the team shot a collective 19-over 307 on Tuesday to finish in seventh place with a 38-over 902. The Titans finished 26 strokes back of team champions Oregon State and nine strokes back of a top five finish in the 15-team field.

Daniella Uy posted the second-best score for the Titans, carding a 12-over 228 at the Rose City Collegiate, finishing in a tie for 35th place. She recorded five birdies at the tournament including one on Tuesday.

Pauline Welker finished the tournament with a 14-over 230 (t44th) and Brittany Farrell posted a 16-over 232 (t50th) to round out the team scoring. Elsa Lundquist posted a 245 in 54 holes, which placed her in a tie for 79th.

Competing as an individual, sophomore Brittney Sok set a new career best as she shot a 13-over 229 at the tournament, eclipsing her previous 54-hole best by six strokes. She tied her single-round career best on Tuesday, shooting a 3-over 75 and finished the tournament tied for 39th place.

Sophomore Felicia Medalla also competed as an individual this week, posting a 22-over 238 to finish tied for 65th.

The Titans are now halfway through the fall portion of their 2016-17 schedule and will return to the links on Monday, Oct. 10 at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in Lakewood, Wash.
