Titans Wrap Up First Two Rounds at Mountain View Collegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Cal State Fullerton women's golf team shot a collective 12-over 588 to go into the clubhouse in 11th place after the first day at the Mountain View Collegiate Invitational hosted by Missouri and Kansas State at the Mountain View Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.

The Titans find themselves two strokes back of a top-10 spot, with Fresno State holding on to ninth place at 10-over. Florida International leads the field after the first 36 holes, carding a collective 6-under 570, just one stroke ahead of Ohio State and Texas State.

The Titans currently have two players in the top-50, led by sophomore Martina Edberg, who currently sits in a tie for 13th place overall after carding a 1-under 143 after 36 holes. Edberg shot an even-par 72 in the opening round and then wrapped up the day with a 71 in the second round. Edberg trails day-one overall leader Chonlada Chayanun of Iowa State by six strokes after Chaynun finished the day at 7-under.

Makayla Mier is currently tied for 34th place as she recorded a 2-over 146 on day one. After posting an even-par 72 in round one, Mier wrapped up her day with a 2-over 74 on the last 18 holes of the day.

Nadine Rivera sits just outside the top-50 after posting a 5-over 149, placing her in a tie for 51st. Rivera had a 5-over 77 in the first 18 holes and then recovered nicely in the second round, posting an even-par 72.

Brittany Farrell and Tisha Alyn Abrea rounded out the Titans scoring on Friday as they posted a 8-over 152 and 9-over 153 respectively.

The Titans will wrap up the Mountain View Collegiate on Saturday with the final 18 holes scheduled for a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
