FULLERTON, Calif. -- Cal State Fullerton got 16 points and 11 rebounds from Kathleen Iwuoha as the Titans beat California Baptist 70-38 in exhibition women's basketball to open the Daron Park era.

Brianna Barfield scored 14 points and grabbed seven boards on the night, with a 4-for-6 effort from behind the arc. Mya Olivier and Alex Thomas each chipped in 10 points for the squad.

The Titans pressure man-to-man defense was effective early and led to an 11-point lead by the first media time out. The defense was especially noticeable to begin the second half as Fullerton's size and bench depth tested the visitors. Fullerton opened up the second half on a 23-6 point run and never looked back.

"We had great energy and great enthusiasm tonight and if we can keep up that level of energy we will attack the regular season," said head coach Daron Park. "I'm a huge believer in the regular season and the regular season is a grind. I was very, very excited to see that effort because that's what we'll have to do during the grind of the Big West Conference."

California Baptist got eight points from Megan Brown who also grabbed nine rebounds leading the Lancers in both categories.

The Titans will host Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. before opening the regular season at home with South Dakota.
