FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's soccer dominated from whistle to whistle to take down No. 14 Florida Gulf Coast 2-0 Sunday night at Titan Stadium to improve to 6-0 on the season.

The Titans came out firing on cylinders Sunday night, attacking and controlling a lot of the possession which lead to a penalty kick for Christian Pinzon in the 23rd minute.

Pinzon was able to flick the ball past the goalkeeper which left the defender no other choice than to foul in the box, leading to a red card for the defender. Pinzon showed why he's the teams leading scorer and put the PK in with ease for his fourth of the season. Pinzon had a great weekend, scoring two goals while recording two assists in two games.

Fullerton's defense played stout once again against a top-ranked opponent, leading to the team's third shutout of the season. Paul-Andre Guerin made several fantastic saves throughout the match to earn his 18th career shutout, moving him into second place in the history of the program. Guerin needs just two more clean sheets to hold the all-time record for most shutouts in the history of the program.

The Titans added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute as Mario Gomez scored his first career goal on an assist from Pinzon to put Fullerton up 2-0.

Fullerton's 6-0 start to the season matches the best start since 2000 under Al Mistri. The Titans best start to a season is 7-0 in 1999. Head Coach George Kuntz now takes his team on the road for the first time this season as they head to San Francisco for a matchup Sunday at 5:00 p.m. PT.
